Environmental Protection Agency:EPA Homepage - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) developed its FY 2000 - 2005 Strategic Plan to serve as a road map for taking the Agency into the 21st century. The Strategic Plan lays out the Agency's ten long-term goals and guides in establishing the annual goals they will need to meet along the way. It allows them to measure how far they have come towards achieving their goals and to recognize where they need to adjust their approaches or directions. Finally, it provides a basis from which EPA's managers can focus resources on the highest priority environmental issues and assure that they use taxpayer dollars effectively to achieve environmental results. The EPA submitted its Strategic Plan to Congress in September 2000, as required under the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA).Laws & RegulationsProgramsInformation Sources
