Muster
There are many ways to muster in support of our 2nd Amendment right. To
muster is to gather, collect, summon, or assemble. All year round 2ARMED is collecting to
aid musters, fund Firearm Safety education, and get the word out that the 2nd Amendment is
a right and as such should not be relegated to a privilege through further
legislation and restriction.
You can help by generously donating. You can also organize, or
participate in, an annual muster at your local firing range on the first Saturday in
October. There are many resources on this site to aid you. You can download targets, get a
sample letter o personalize and send to your elected officials, you can find your elected
officials mailing addresses and email addresses. There is also Safety Education
information you can use at a muster with your local clubs and organizations. The great
thing about this is you don't even have to go to range to participate.
2ARMED is for everybody - both the 'pro' and 'anti' gunners. It is not
radical ideology. It is simply designed to spread the word that the 2nd Amendment is
inalienable and guaranteed by the Bill of Rights, as well as to educate everyone on
firearm safety. Even though you may never own a firearm chances are your child will be in
a house sometime during their lifetime that contains a firearm. We teach our children
about the hazards associated with drugs, sex, automobiles, and so much more. Why not teach
them about firearms also? To do so will reduce their curiosity should they happen across
an unsecured firearm and provide them with the knowledge of what to do in this situation.
For the law abiding citizens exercising their 2nd Amendment right to keep
and bear arms you can print/download targets to use when you fire your weapon. The first
Saturday of October was selected as the day to muster because it is symbolic of exercising
your 1st Amendment right (to support and defend your 2nd Amendment right). Also, it is
when a large number of hunters are preparing their weapons for the opening of the season.
We feel this is an excellent time to refresh yourself, family members, friends and hunting
partners on firearm safety.
Time until 2ARMED - 10am
first Saturday in October:

Ideas for mustering:
Go to your shooting range and exercise your right or attend an
organized event. Follow the instructions of the Range Safety Officer.
Organize an event at your local range to educate others on the
2nd Amendment and firearms safety. Ensure there is a Range Safety Officer present.
Contact your elected officials and
advocate your right (*We recommend downloading 2ARMED targets,
sign them after use, and then send them along with a letter to
your Local, State and Federal representatives so they know where you stand on the 2nd
Amendment).
Join a Local, State and/or National organization
that advocates your 2nd Amendment right.
Speak at local organization or club and advocate the 2nd
Amendment and firearm safety education.
Send a press
release about 2ARMED to your local newspapers, television and radio stations
advocating the 2nd Amendment and firearm safety education.
Attend your local school board meeting and/or Parent-Teacher
Association (or equivalent) and request firearm safety education be presented to school
aged children.
Vote in the upcoming elections for candidates
that support your point of view.
