The
Fifty Caliber Shooters Policy Institute has been created to protect
the rights of fifty caliber shooters and manufacturers. They are chartered as a non-profit
organization and incorporated in the state of Nevada under tax codes that allow them to be
directly involved in efforts to influence legislation that might be harmful to our
sporting rights. They are involved.
The Policy Institute is run by several dedicated people who have one single purpose in
mind;
Our sport has been demonized by several anti-gun legislators who are
using the fifty caliber rifle as a means to take all firearms away from the American
public. We have been portrayed as "A threat to National Security", and have been
told there are no legitimate sporting uses of the .50 cal. BMG. We intend to turn that
perception around and educate the American public as well as our legislators to exactly
who we are.
They have been busy since May of 1999 when legislation was presented in the US House of
Representatives that would seriously restrict the rights of fifty caliber shooters. Much
has been accomplished, but we have a long way to go yet. They will use their web page as
our means of keeping fifty caliber shooters appraised of events as they occur.
Another avenue of communication they will use is the Very High
Power magazine, published by the Fifty Caliber
Shooters Assn., Inc. (FCSA).
We recommend that anyone involved in the sport of fifty caliber shooting bookmark their
web page and the web page of FCSA at: www.fcsa.org
and join FCSA. Print out an application and send it in. If you are an expired member,
rejoin. If you have questions call (435) 527-9245 or (909) 653-5447 to get answers. We
need the help of everyone together in the effort to turn this issue around.
